Is Claude 529 a rate limit?
Anthropic’s API documentation calls 529 an overload response and 429 a rate limit. A 529 does not establish that you exhausted your own allowance. Check the actual status code or error type, then see the 529 guide for a safe retry sequence and what to save if the request keeps failing.
Is “Claude is busy right now” the same as 529?
The busy wording is something a user sees in the Claude interface; 529 is a specific API response. What should I save before retrying a long task?
